TAPE to DVD conversion PottstownPC can take your VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, 8mm and miniDV camcorder tapes and convert them to DVD. Custom Menu's, Titles, etc! Camcorder tapes degrade over time. The magnetic tape that holds your precious memories can break down to the point that it is almost blank. Sometimes, rending the tape unplayable or unwatchable. The standard VHS and VHS-C tapes you buy at your local retail stores (ex. Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc.) don't have a very long lifespan, only about 20 years. DVD's have an estimated lifespan of 100 years or more. By converting your tapes to DVD, you are taking the contents of your tapes from analog to digital. This ensures that your memories will not degrade any further, ever. PottstownPC can also remove parts of your tapes that you wish you could have removed. Whether it is a boring shot of your neighbor's dog sleeping, or perhaps you hit record by accident and didn't realize you were recording, or just a long period of empty space on the tape. We can also add transitions and special effects between scenes. Pricing: Standard cost for each 2 hours of video is $19.95. This includes the capturing and conversion of your tape, one picture for your menu or you can select from our collection of menus, one copy on DVD with case and a standard white cover with your DVD title. Additional copies of the same DVD project can be ordered anytime for just $9.95 each. If any editing is required, an additional cost of $14.95 per 60 minutes of video will apply. Question: Why would I need editing? Turnaround: Processing times vary for each project, so we ask that you allow a 1 week time period per tape to complete your project. Most tape to DVD conversions that do not require editing take less than 1 week. It all depends on how many tapes we receive each week to be converted. Tapes are converted on a first come first serve basis. Rest assured, we'll get your tapes converted as fast as possible. If you have a special request tape to DVD conversion you want to give to your Mom for Mother's Day or you want to have a tape converted as a gift for a birthday or another special day, please be sure to get your tape to us within 2 weeks of the date you need the DVD completed. Shipping & Delivery: If you are local, we will arrange for pickup of your tape(s) and delivery of the DVD(s). If you are not local to the Pottstown area, please contact us for further instructions. You can also have your DVD's mailed to family members and friends as gifts. Standard United States Postal Service shipping rates apply. Some things to note: VHS and VHS-C quality, on
most tapes, is poor in quality compared to DVD quality movies you may have
rented or purchased. A lot of customers have the thought that their video
quality will improve once it is transferred to DVD. This is not the case.
The quality will be exactly the same as it is on the tape. So if you have a
tape that is starting to lose color or playback is not as good as it was 10
years ago, it's going to look that way on DVD. At least you don't have to
worry about the quality getting worse in the next 5-10 years. Converting
your tapes to DVD eliminates any further degrading of your precious memories. |
